GAS VENTING

 Gas Venting Test is carried out in the Apparatus shown below,
 according to the following procedures:

 1. Insert one test piece of Carbon Rod into O Ring so as to
    sink 10mm of the test piece into Carbon Holder.

 2. Tighten the Holder Cap so that no air leaks.

 3. Start the Vacuum Pump to obtain nearly 0 torr on Manometer.

 4. Close the Stop Valve, and simultaneously begin to start
    a stop watch.

 5. Measure the time required for Mercury to move from 0 to 40 torr,
    or 0 to 40mm on Manometer.

 6. Gas Venting is calculated by this time in second, and
    described as  sec./0 -40mmHg.
